Recently, in the Palmyra area, a company has been falsely advertising that it is associated with Northeast Power. A member of Missouri Rural Electric Cooperative reported the company reached out to them stating they were trimming trees on behalf of Northeast Power. They requested payment immediately, stating 20% of the payment would go to Northeast Power.
Here are a few items to remember if you are contacted by any company claiming to be a contractor for Northeast Power:
-
If anyone from Northeast Power contacts you about a particular service, we would not request a payment.
-
Contact your local electric cooperative or Northeast Power immediately to check the validity of the request.
-
If the problem persists, we encourage you to file a report with the local authorities.
-
Northeast Power publishes its right-of-way program on its website at www.northeastpower.coop/integrated-vegetation-management.
