The Northeast Power employees who assisted in the Iowa storm restoration efforts have returned. Our crew, who left early on August 12, worked diligently over the past week assisting Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO), the G&T servicing central and eastern Iowa, in the replacement of damaged transmission structures, conductors and ground wire as a result of the August 10 storm.
The Northeast Power crew, CIPCO employees and other assisting crews, including Norwest Iowa Power Cooperative (NIPCO), Corn Belt Power Cooperative and Dairyland Power Cooperative, managed to restore power to all affected substations before returning to Palmyra. Sixteen-hour days were not uncommon during their stay and three (3) moves were required regarding lodging for the employees.
Thank you to our employees who assisted: Luke Frericks, Anthony Huber, Jeremy Hudson, Bob Leake, Tom Powell and Damon Scott.
