Business Attraction Marketing
Northeast Power's approach to Business Attraction Marketing leverages its resources by partnering with others while still giving Northeast Power a realistic opportunity to attract businesses.
While not a major creator of new jobs, business attraction is still a viable economic development strategy. Being successful in attraction requires a commitment to a long-term effort and significant investment in marketing. It is much more cost-effective to do attraction marketing as part of a multi-county region. Resources can be further leveraged by partnering with other regional or statewide organizations and the state departments of economic development.
Northeast Power, on behalf of its Member-Distribution Cooperatives and the 33 counties they serve, participates in business attraction marketing and efforts in partnership with state and regional economic development organizations. Northeast Power staff work trade shows, participate in corporate-visitation trips, host business prospects and site selection consultants, and engage in other business attraction activities.
